About
Laura Nydam, LISW CADC
I have 20+ years of experience in the social work field. I strive to provide a safe environment for connection so clients are empowered with the possibility for new growth and healing. I feel that holistic treatment is best for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. I use mainly an eclectic theoretical approach to therapy based on what I assess will work best for each person. Due to the complex nature of each individual I think it is rather impossible to have a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I believe that imperfect progress makes change possible and that relationship has more to do with fostering change than theory. That said, I have been extensively trained in many approaches not limited to psychodynamic, strength based, family systems, CBT, motivational interviewing, sensory-motor and trauma approaches. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
